Duncan Robert Edwards (Sound Designer) has two design partners. Randy Hansen in New York and Jeroen ten Brinke in Holland. Together and separately, they have designed a significant amount of theater, television and special event audio systems around the world. 

 

Selected theater designs by Duncan include, LoveMusik written by Alfred Urhy and directed by Harold Prince, BOUNCE written by Stephen Sondheim and John Weidman and directed by Harold Prince, THREE another Harold Prince project, the touring production of PARADE written by Jason Robert Brown and directed by Harold Prince, THE LAST FIVE YEARS written by Jason Robert Brown, THE CIVIL WAR written by Frank Wildhorn and starring Larry Gatlin, the award winning production of FLOYD COLLINS for the Weston Playhouse, JOSEPH AND THE AMAZING TECHNICOLOR DREAM COAT starring Patrick Cassidy.  Some of his New York theater designs include I LOVE YOU, YOUR PERFECT, NOW CHANGE, A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM, SHAKESPEARE FOR MY FATHER, and THE FOOD CHAIN.

 

Television designs include the studio sound systems for SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE, LAST CALL WITH CARSON DALY, LATE NIGHT WITH CONAN O'BRIEN, and THE TONIGHT SHOW starring Jay Leno, as well as the house sound systems for the televised VICTORIA'S SECRET FASHION SHOWS and SURVIVOR: THE FINAL EPISODE (shot live in Central Park). 

 

For the last ten years, Duncan has been designing the sound systems for the world-renowned composer Steve Reich.  His multimedia presentations of THE CAVE and THREE TALES with Beryl Korot have been a particular joy.

 

Duncan has thoroughly enjoyed traveling around the world and working with local audio engineers, sharing audio stories and practices as well as learning about their countries and culture. Duncan is often home tending to a small horse farm in Connecticut with his wife Patricia, their children Francesca and Lucas as well as their horses Scarlet, Valiente, Monty and Keliade.  Whenever possible, Duncan enjoys cruising and day sailing the local waters of Long Island Sound and the Atlantic.
